About the menu

Sate Kambing Sumber Pak Dahlan in Surakarta is a must-visit for lamb lovers seeking authentic Indonesian satay. Located on Jl. Letjen Suprapto, this humble eatery specializes in tender, smoky lamb satay that impresses with no gamey aftertaste—a rare feat that keeps patrons coming back. Beyond their signature satay, the menu shines with sate buntel (lamb kebab satay), tongseng (sweet soy lamb stew), and krengseng (sliced lamb in petis sauce), each bursting with bold, layered spices that enrich the broth and heighten the savory experience.

The dining ambiance reflects a simple, outdoor Indonesian style, emphasizing flavorful dishes over frills. Though service can be slow and the location a bit off the city's center, the generous portions and clean, bright setting make it worth the journey. Whether craving expertly grilled lamb or richly spiced stews, Sate Kambing Sumber Pak Dahlan delivers an authentic, deeply satisfying taste of Javanese lamb cuisine.

Pak Dahlan have amazing lamb meat for their dishes. Starting from their lamb satay, their lamb kebab satay (sate buntel), their sweet soy sauce lamb stew (tongseng), and sliced lamb in petis sauce (Krengseng) are all amazing! The place is quite clean and bright as well. You can skip the otak - otak (grilled fish cake wrapped in banana leaves) that they offer though, too much flour.
